Bellator Grabs Oshiro for 135 Tourney

Oshiro will participate in Bellator’s season three bantamweight
tournament. The promotion confirmed the addition in a press release
sent Thursday morning.
The hard-hitting 26-year-old from Honolulu, Hawaii, has won eight of his last nine bouts, with his lone loss in the span coming at the hands of the respected Bao Quach. Oshiro (12-2) is a veteran of Icon Sport and EliteXC.
Oshiro and Danny Tims are the only confirmed fighters in the bantamweight tournament. Additional signings are expected to be announded in the coming days.
“Mark Oshiro is a great fighter for our upcoming 135 [pound] tournament,” stated Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney in the release. “He is a very talented striker who also has a great ground game. I look forward to seeing him fight in our tournament beginning in August.”
An opening-round date and venue for the 135-pound tournament have yet to be announced.
