Miesha Tate may train in Las Vegas, but when it comes to the National Football League, her heart is in Washington.
Prior to Thursday’s preseason game between the Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys, the former UFC bantamweight queen raised the honorary “12th Man” flag at CenturyLink Field. The Seahawks retired the No. 12 in 1984 in honor of their fans; usually a celebrity or a season-ticket holder raises the flag located in the south endzone prior to games. For whatever it’s worth, Seattle defeated Dallas 27-17.
A native of Tacoma, Wash., Tate last fought at UFC 200, losing the 135-pound belt to Amanda Nunes via first-round submission. It is unclear when she will make her next Octagon appearance.
