Bellator Fighting Championships 46 earned an average of 185,000
viewers for its Saturday broadcast on MTV2, Sherdog.com confirmed
with industry sources Tuesday.
The event, which marked the first show in the promotion's “Summer Series” trilogy, netted an additional 116,000 viewers with an immediate replay. The viewership figures mark a sharp decline for the promotion, which earned 264,000 viewers for Bellator 45 in May. However, the 185,000 viewers who tuned in Saturday still trumped Bellator’s fourth-season low of 150,000 viewers, which came during Bellator 38 in March.
Featuring four featherweight tournament quarterfinal bouts, Bellator 46 emanated from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla. The event saw Pat Curran, Marlon Sandro, Nazareno Malegarie and Ronnie Mann advance to the tournament’s semifinal round, which will be contested on July 23 at Bellator 47.
