Mendes does not just go for tuna fish straight out of a can. He prefers fresh ingredients.
“I catch all my own tuna,” Mendes said. “I go out on boats and do a lot of fishing. Me and my dad catch the fish, cook them up and I have tuna fish sandwiches throughout camp. I’m not even joking. That’s for real. I catch my own fish.”
Mendes will be fishing for big game when he challenges UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo at UFC 142 on Saturday at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on pay-per-view at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
