Mike Bohn Joins Press Row

Every Wednesday, Administrative Editor Jordan Breen welcomes a member of the mixed martial arts media into “Press Row” on the Sherdog.com blog. This week, Breen is joined by MMAJunkie and USA Today's Mike Bohn.

With the recent injuries to UFC Fight Night 99 fighters Gunnar Nelson and James Krause, Zuffa has just been forced to make its 32nd and 33th changes to main and co-main events this year. Breen and Bohn dig into how the UFC's return to Belfast has been particularly besieged by injuries, but also how in 2016, the volume of UFC headliner changes is not necessarily due to only injuries. The two break down how this year has seen USADA drug testing, monetary disputes and relocating previously made fight has changed the fundamental meaning of “main event change.”

Breen and Bohn review the entire list of 2016's UFC main and co-main bout alterations, eulogizing Wilson Reis' short-lived flyweight title shot, uncovering how main event switches and dumb luck helped shaped Michael Bisping's incredible campaign, as well as how flyweight kingpin Demetrious Johnson has been unduly hamstrung by having other champions' bouts fall apart on him.
