Soares wears a variety of hats in mixed martial arts. The long time manager to former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva and RFA president joined “Beatdown” Friday to discuss a variety of topics including the future of the long time pound-for-pound great, Silva’s progress rehabbing the injury sustained while fighting Chris Weidman, and a possible comeback fight against former UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre. Pavelich continues to be Canada’s premier promoter in mixed martial arts. The Maximum Fighting Championship president joined De Santis and Sherwood to discuss MFC’s first effort in 2014. MFC 39 takes place January 17th at the Northland Expo Center in Edmonton, Alberta. Pavelich breaks down the card, the current landscape in promoting, and where he feels the Canadian based promotion ranks among MMA’s “big leagues.”

TJ and Jeff also take listener calls, emails, tweets and predictions for what will happen in the world of mixed martial arts in 2014. The guys also discuss Matt Brown’s comments regarding women’s mixed martial arts.
