Sarah Kaufman Smashes Cupcake, Calls Out Miesha Tate

Sarah Kaufman is itching for a fight, and the former Strikeforce bantamweight champion is willing to resort to punishing pastries in order to get her message across.

Kaufman’s current target is Miesha Tate, who is coming off a hard-fought triumph over Sara McMann at UFC 183. If bonus points are awarded for Instagram creativity, then the Canadian fighter is bound to get her wish.

With Tate’s walkout theme, “Roar” by Katy Perry,” playing in the background, Kaufman smashes a cupcake, which also happens to be Tate’s moniker, with her fist and then calls out her opponent of choice in Diaz-esque fashion.

“Don’t be scared, ‘Cupcake,’” Kaufman says.

Exactly when such a matchup could take place is currently unclear. Tate suffered a fractured orbital at UFC 183 and might be out for as long as six months. Kaufman, meanwhile, hasn’t competed since April, when she earned a unanimous decision victory over Leslie Smith at UFC Fight Night “Bisping vs. Kennedy.”
