On Nov. 16, Bellator Fighting Championship, now Bellator MMA, was in Rhode Island for Bellator 81.

In the main event, Marcin Held submitted Rich Clementi by toe hold in the second round to advance to the Season 7 lightweight final. The co-main event saw Dave Jansen edge out a split decision over Ricardo Triloni to advance to the finals, where he would go on to beat Held and win Season 7.

Bellator 81 also saw Marlon Sandro submit Dustin Neace and Brennan Ward knock out Sam McCoy.
