On Nov. 4, 2016, Bellator MMA was at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, for Bellator 163.

In the main event, Liam McGeary was looking to defend his light heavyweight title for the second time. Yet, it was a dominating performance by Phil Davis as he won by unanimous decision with scores of 50-43, 50-45, 50-44. The co-main attraction saw Brennan Ward knock out Saad Awad in the first round. Also, Neiman Gracie submitted Rudy Bears in the first round and Javy Ayala knocked out Sergei Kharitonov in just 16 seconds, in what was Kharitonov’s promotional debut.
