Every Wednesday, Administrative Editor Jordan Breen welcomes a member of the mixed martial arts media into “Press Row” on the Sherdog.com blog. This week, Breen is joined by Los Angeles Times, Pro Wrestling Torch and Sherdog.com contributor Todd Martin.

On Monday, Demetrious Johnson dropped his pipe bomb polemic against his promoter, the Ultimate Fighting Championship, claiming the company had bullied him and made “unfulfilled promises” after his refusal to fight former bantamweight champ T.J. Dillashaw. That same day, Martin dropped some unpopular, dissenting opinions on the situation that lit up the MMA Twitterverse. Breen and Martin discuss the situation, the timing and rationale of Johnson's screed, how the WME-IMG ownership of the UFC has laid bare old, cruel promotional tactics and whether or not he really wants to fight T.J. Dillashaw.

Breen and Martin also lament the rise of “hot take” culture as well as the “hot take police,” and the poisonous outcomes of viewing thoughtful-but-unpopular opinions as inherent trolljobs, especially as it relates to mixed martial arts.
