Sherdog’s Top 10: Conor McGregor’s Signature Moments
No. 1
1. Crowning Achievement
After months and months of spewed hatred and one delayed showdown, Conor McGregor backed up all his bravado and then some by torching longtime featherweight champion Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds into the UFC 194 main event. It was the quickest finish in UFC championship history and catapulted McGregor to superstardom.
Aldo seemed out of character as he made his walk to the Octagon and appeared anxious when the fight started. He threw a few combinations from too far away, overextended on a right hand and ate a counter left hook. Aldo connected with a left of his own while going unconscious. McGregor absorbed the impact and watched the Brazilian fall at his feet. Aldo rolled over in a semiconscious state, but the Irishman dropped a pair of hammerfists that necessitated an immediate stoppage.
