Carla Esparza (9-2): The Team Oyama export enters the competition on the strength of four consecutive victories. Esparza, 26, wrestled collegiately at Menlo College in Atherton, Calif., before transitioning to mixed martial arts. She last appeared at Invicta Fighting Championships 4 in January, when she defeated Bec Hyatt by unanimous decision to become the organization’s first strawweight champion. Esparza’s only two defeats have come to current World Series of Fighting champion Jessica Aguilar and Japanese legend Megumi Fujii.
