Aldo held the Ultimate Fighting Championship featherweight crown for 1,848 days and seemed almost invincible at times, rattling off consecutive victories over Mark Hominick, Kenny Florian, Chad Mendes (twice), Frankie Edgar, Chan Sung Jung and Ricardo Lamas as champion. His reign was part of a remarkable 18-fight winning streak from May 20, 2006 to Oct. 25, 2014. Ill-fated encounters with Conor McGregor and Max Holloway marked the end of his stay at the top, but Aldo remains the greatest featherweight of all-time in the minds of many. Freire, meanwhile, has enjoyed two tile reigns in Bellator and owns a 14-4 mark in the promotion. Three victories over Daniel Straus, two wins against Wilson Reis and other notable triumphs over Pat Curran, Daniel Weichel and Georgi Karakhanyan have highlighted his run.
