He’s Considered Competing in mixed martial arts for a long time
Contrary to some, CM Punk did not get into MMA on a whim. In fact, he first expressed interest in taking to the cage as far back as 2007. Talking to The Baltimore Sun, he said: “I’m not saying I’m going to jump into it. I am not fighting tomorrow or anything. But it’s definitely something that interests me.”He challenged Chris Brown to an MMA match
At a time when the singer was involved in a domestic violence case after beating up his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, Punk, like millions of others, had something to say. Brown took offense and responded to Punk’s Twitter comments. It didn’t take long until the two were engaged in a war of words, with the WWE superstar challenging him to a cage match.“So Chris wants to throw stones my way now, and I say that’s fine, but put some gloves on and get in the ring,” said Punk. “I will choke you out, and I will make you feel as weak and as powerless and scared and alone as any woman who has had the misfortune of knowing a sad, cowardly little boy such as yourself.”
He has been training jiu-jitsu on and off for years
Before training under Duke Roufus, he’d trained with Rener Gracie for years. Punk even appeared in a few “Gracie Breakdown” videos like the one where he and Gracie discussed the Royce Gracie and Dan Severn fight from UFC’s early years. Anyone who religiously follows his WWE career probably knows that Tazz and Joey Styles referred to him as a “jiu-jitsu master.” While he is far from being one, Punk sure has gained some decent chops with all those years of training. He is a pescatarian
Basically, Punk follows a vegetarian diet but also consumes fish and other seafood. He does not eat beef, pork, chicken and other meats. Living a straight-edge lifestyle, he also doesn’t drink, smoke or take recreational drugs. He is a comic book writer
Punk penned the introduction for the hard cover edition of Marvel’s 2012 crossover event, “Avengers vs. X-Men.” In 2015, Marvel tapped its first-time writers to create an original Thor stories, and one of the guys they picked was Punk. That same year, he co-wrote the Marvel series, “Drax,” as well as “The Most Cursed” from Vertigo Comics. We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.
