NR | Danaa Batgerel (9-2, 2-1 UFC) vs. NR | Brandon Davis (14-8, 2-5 UFC)ODDS: Batgerel (-185), Davis (+160)
For a short-notice affair, this is a surprisingly fun and well-put-together fight. Mongolia’s Batgerel has impressed thus far through three UFC outings, mostly due to his ability to throw powerful counters. Heili Alateng was too fast for Batgerel when they made their UFC debuts back in 2019, but “Storm” spent his next two fights showing how he can plug an overmatched opponent, knocking out Guido Cannetti and Kevin Natividad in less than four minutes combined. Up next for Batgerel is an interesting test against Davis, who returns to the UFC for the first time since 2019. Davis in his first UFC stint reliably brought excitement to his fights while stepping in as often as possible, cramming seven fights into less than two years on the roster. However, most opponents were able to outmaneuver Davis’ straightforward pressure game, and as a result, “Killer B” could not keep up the record to stay with the promotion. He has earned this return in the two years since by putting together four straight wins, and he has looked improved over the course of those fights. His gains include a wrestling game that should at least serve as a mix-up in fights like this. Davis is also a large bantamweight, so there is a chance he can give Batgerel his toughest fight in the UFC yet simply by staying aggressive and relying on his impressive durability. However, Batgerel does not appear likely to get rattled, and Davis’ approach offers plenty of opportunities for him to land with some sharp offense. This should be an enjoyable time and an under-the-radar banger. The pick is Batgerel via decision.
