Bantamweights
Jordan Espinosa (14-7) vs. Mark De La Rosa (11-4)ODDS: Espinosa (-155), De La Rosa (+135)
Espinosa looked like he was ready to make an impact at flyweight coming off of a successful campaign on Dana White’s Contender Series, but after winning his UFC debut, he has had a rough go of it, losing his last two fights. Espinosa is an excellent athlete, even by flyweight standards, but his darting low-power striking style quickly hit a ceiling, and any attempts to start grappling has just gotten him subbed out. He will look to rebound against De La Rosa, who has enjoyed a fun UFC tenure thus far but is trying to snap his own three-fight skid. De La Rosa has traditionally struggled against better athletes, though he has some avenues to victory here. He is much better at throwing combinations, and given Espinosa’s recent track record, De La Rosa is solid enough on the mat that he could find his adversary’s neck during a scramble. However, there is just not much there to dissuade Espinosa’s usual game. The pick is Espinosa via decision.
