Like so many Lawler opponents, the highly regarded Amagov did not survive the first round against him. “Ruthless Robbie” brought their brief encounter to a close with a flying knee and follow-up punches 1:48 into Round 1 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Amagov entered the cage undefeated across his 11 previous appearances, the K Dojo Warrior Tribe representative having gone 10-0-1 in that span. However, momentum played no part in the outcome. Amagov struck for a pair of takedowns inside the first minute, but an illegal knee strike cost him a point and disrupted his plans to keep Lawler grounded. With no harm done, the two men shook hands after a brief pause in the action and resumed the fight on the feet. Lawler then took flight, chopped down the Chechen with a glancing knee strike and closed him out with an unanswered burst of punches on the mat.
