It is not every day that a mixed martial artist draws genuine recognition from a respected publication. Business Insider, a media giant covering all aspects of business in America and abroad, named the UFC women’s bantamweight champion the “Most Dominant Athlete Alive” in July, adding to the growing list of accolades on her mantle.

In being named, Rousey beat out track and field legend Usain Bolt, soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, tennis great Serena Williams and NBA superstar LeBron James, among others. A tidal wave of discussion and dissent followed, the aura surrounding the “Rowdy” one continuing to build.
