Not all upsets are created equal. Holly Holm sent shockwaves through the sport on Nov. 15, 2015, as she knocked out the seemingly invincible Ronda Rousey with a second-round head kick and claimed the UFC women’s bantamweight championship before a crowd of 56,214 at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. Having dominated virtually every second of the fight, Holm sent the “Rowdy” one crashing to the canvas 59 seconds into Round 2. Rousey entered the Octagon with a perfect 12-0 record and had finished all 12 of her opponents, 11 of them inside one round. Lost in the shadow of Holm’s monumental upset, Joanna Jedrzejczyk retained the UFC women’s strawweight championship in the co-main event. There, she shredded Valerie Letourneau across five rounds, as she connected on a staggering 225 significant strikes.
