UFC fights

At 39, Teixeira has double the experience than Cutelaba with a total of 35 career fights, 16 of which that came inside the Octagon. He made his promotional debut at UFC 146 by submitting Kyle Kingsbury in a little over two minutes. The Brazilian holds notable victories over quality opponents such as Rashad Evans, Ovince St. Preux, Ryan Bader and Quinton Jackson. Currently, his Ultimate Fighting Championship record stands at 11-5. Meanwhile, “The Hulk” made his debut at UFC Fight Night 89, where he lost to Misha Cirkunov. He parades a promotional record of 3-2.

Winning streak

Teixeira has alternated wins and losses since knocking out Rashad Evans in the main event of UFC on Fox 19. In his last Octagon appearance, Teixeira submitted Karl Roberson to tally his 28th career victory. Meanwhile, Cutelaba is starting to build momentum in the UFC with a two-fight winning streak. He knocked out Henrique da Silva at UFC Fight Night 110 and Gadzhimurad Antigulov at UFC on Fox 30.

Post-fight bonuses

As he’s been in the UFC for much longer, Teixeira has earned more post-fight bonuses than Cutelaba. The Brazilian has received bonus money for two Fight of the Night performances (with St. Preux and Alexander Gustafsson), one Submission of the Night (over James Te Huna), one Knockout of the Night (versus Bader) and one Performance of the Night (against Evans). Meanwhile, Cutelaba has already earned one Fight of the Night (for his bout against Jared Cannonier) award.

Five-round experience

In only his fifth UFC bout, Teixeira was billed in the main event alongside Bader. At UFC Fight Night 28 he achieved his fifth straight triumph inside the Octagon. He also appeared in the main event of UFC 172 (versus Jon Jones), UFC Fight Night 73 (against St. Preux), UFC on Fox 19 (versus Evans) and UFC Fight Night 109 (versus Gustafsson). Meanwhile, the less experienced Cutelaba has yet to experience being in the headliner.

Championship experience

Teixeira has fought for the championship twice in his professional career. He became the Shooto South America 220 pound champion after submitting Antonio Mendes. In the UFC, he challenged for the belt once against Jon Jones. His opponent has never fought for any organization’s championship.

Early stoppages

Teixeira and Cutelaba have 37 finishes between them. The former has 19 victories inside the first round while “The Hulk” has made quick work of his opponents 11 times in his career. That’s impressive given that he’s only had 18 professional fights. Advertisement
