Eight prospective welterweights will suit up to seek a Professional Fighters League roster spot on Week 1 of the PFL Challenger Series this Friday at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. Multiple-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion Lucas Barbosa takes the featured slot opposite Itso Babulaidze, as he returns to mixed martial arts competition for the first time in more than a decade.
PFL Challenger Series 1—which streams to fuboTV at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT—features three other bouts at 170 pounds: Eric Alequin vs. Thad Jean, Jozef Wittner vs. Zach Juusola and Mostafa Rashed Neda vs. Nick Alley. Juusola, 35, steps in as a short-notice replacement for Quemuel Ottoni, who was forced to withdraw for undisclosed reasons.
