Burns, 38, steps back into the spotlight on the heels of back-to-back defeats. The Kill Cliff Fight Club export last fought at UFC 299, where he succumbed to a knee strike and follow-up punches from Jack Della Maddalena in the third round of their March 9 encounter. Burns owns a 15-7 record in the UFC, his run highlighted by victories over Jorge Masvidal, Neil Magny, Stephen Thompson, Tyron Woodley and Demian Maia. Brady, meanwhile, has lost just once—Belal Muhammad did the honors in October 2022—in 17 professional appearances. The Daniel Gracie-trained Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and former Cage Fury Fighting Championships titleholder last suited up on Dec. 2, when he submitted Kelvin Gastelum with a kimura in the third round of their UFC on ESPN 52 pairing.

UFC Fight Night 242 “Burns vs. Brady” also features a featherweight tilt slotting Steve Garcia (-180) opposite Kyle Nelson (+150), a bantamweight scrap pitting Cody Durden (-305) against Matt Schnell (+240) and a pair of lightweight affairs, as Trevor Peek (-130) meets Yanal Ashmouz (+100) and Zhu Rong (-260) faces Chris Padilla (+210).
