Who You Got? Sherdog Staff Pick 'Em: UFC Fight Night 149
It's time to rise and shine with the Sherdog Pick 'Em league, as
UFC Fight Night 149: Overeem vs. Oleynik kicks
off at a brisk 10 a.m. ET.
First piece of housekeeping: as the only picker to get all five picks wrong last week, Jacob Debets wins the coveted Golden Goose Award. (Honk!) Better luck this week, sir.
Second piece of housekeeping: while we were collectively a disaster
last week, with no individual picker getting better than three out
of five picks right, Sherdog forum moderator Inverse, a member of The Hive Mind, went four for
five. Maybe they should start listening to him more...
This week's UFC offering from St. Petersburg is easily the most lopsided card of the year so far, with three favorites coming in at over 90 percent, and only Krzystof Jotko receiving less than 80 percent of the picks. In fact, 11 of the 23 pickers were identical this week, which means a big chunk of us will rise or fall together.
One notable exception is that league newcomer Abhinav Kini (welcome!) is the only one of us to pick Marcelo Golm to beat Sergei Pavlovich. Whether he is our next recipient of the Super Cojones Award, or just wanted to start off his pick 'em career with everyone laughing at him, is something we'll find out in just a few hours.
Without further ado, here are the Sherdog staff picks for UFC Fight Night 149.
