ESPN Boxing Weigh-in Results: Manny Pacquiao, Jeff Horn Make Weight

One of boxing’s greatest legends will climb through the ropes one more time on Saturday when Manny Pacquiao will put his WBO welterweight title on the line against Jeff Horn. At Friday’s official weigh-ins, both combatants cleared the final hurdle and made weight.

Horn (16-0-1, 11 KOs) will be fighting in front of his hometown fans in Australia in by far the biggest fight of his entire career. “The Hornet” has quietly built himself a decent resume, but he’s fought exclusively in his native country and is not known to casual fans outside of the land down under. However, Horn has wins over veterans Randall Bailey and Ali Funeka, but even at 38, Pacquiao poses the sort of threat the likes of which Horn has never seen. Horn officially weighed in at 147 pounds and looked ready to pull off what would be one of the biggest upsets in boxing of this generation.

Pacquiao, meanwhile, has taken on literally every elite fighter imaginable throughout his illustrious Hall of Fame career. The Filipino mega star has captured world titles in a record eight different weight classes and his resume of wins reads like a wing in Canastota: Oscar de la Hoya, Juan Manuel Marquez, Timothy Bradley, Shane Mosley, Marco Antonio Barrera, Miguel Cotto, Erik Morales… The list is seemingly endless. While most expect “Pac Man” to blitz Horn to retain his title, Pacquiao said he’s not taking the Aussie lightly; he came in at 146 pounds.

The action will go down live at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Queensland. The Top Rank-promoted card will be televised live on ESPN in the U.S. beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
