Jessica Penne Out, Angela Hill In Against Jodie Esquibel at UFC Fort Lauderdale

The Ultimate Fighting Championship's return to Fort Lauderdale has been forced to undergo another change, as Jessica Penne has been forced to withdraw from her fight against Jodie Esquibel, and she will be replaced by Angela Hill.

According to the UFC on Wednesday, Penne (12-5) will no longer be facing Esquibel (6-4) at UFC Fight Night 150 on April 27 at the BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Penne was forced to withdraw due to undisclosed medical reasons. Replacing her will be her Two Straws co-host and fellow strawweight Hill (8-6).

Penne has now been scheduled to face Esquibel twice this year, previously pulling out of their slated UFC on ESPN 1 meeting when she badly sprained her ankle. She was looking to snap a three-fight losing streak, and has not won since 2014 when she defeated Randa Markos by split decision.

Hill has had a rocky return to the UFC, where she has competed six times since 2017 while only winning twice. She will be attempting to end a two-fight losing streak to Cortney Casey and Markos. A former Invicta Fighting Championships strawweight champ, she racked up three post-fight bonuses in that organization -- one shy of the record held by four fighters.

Esquibel is also looking to break a two-fight losing streak, having dropped back-to-back decisions to Karolina Kowalkiewicz and Jessica Aguilar, and ultimately record her first win inside the Octagon. Until she faces Hill, Esquibel has lost more opponents (3) than she has faced (2) in the UFC. She was originally scheduled to face Aguilar at UFC Fight Night 131, only to have it fall through on fight day. The same happened at UFC on ESPN 1 when Penne was forced to withdraw the day of the event.

UFC Fight Night 150, formerly known as UFC on ESPN 3, will take place on April 27 at the BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Headlining the card will be Ronaldo Souza taking on Jack Hermansson at middleweight. The co-featured bout will be a heavyweight tilt between Greg Hardy and Dmitry Smoliakov.
