Joaquin Buckley Lashes Out at Israel Adesanya: ‘You Ain’t No Real Fighter’

Bad blood between two elite Ultimate Fighting Championship strikers has developed suddenly.

On Saturday, Joaquin Buckley faced off against Kamaru Usman in the UFC Atlanta main attraction. During the broadcast, ex-champ Israel Adesanya had his own stream going, where he some negative thoughts about Buckley. While he showed a little respect about Buckley’s all-time highlight reel win over Impa Kasanganay, the remainder of his message was less-than-pleasant.

“I hate this n--ga, bro,” Adesanya said on YouTube as transcribed by MMA Fighting. “I don’t even use the word ‘hate’ lightly but I hate this n--ga, bro. Something about him just f---ing annoys me. The coolest thing about him is that kick. I respect that…literally I’m just trying to chill, talk. ‘Hey man, we’ve gotta get this going, duh duh duh duh duh duh,’ like he’s rapping. Every single time. He’s just so f---ing annoying. At one point I literally was walking away while he was talking…and I think he didn’t like that, so he went against me since then. But f--k the dude. Maybe I’m a hater, bro. Maybe I’m just a hater.”

Buckley Responds to Adesanya Criticism

Buckley did not take long to let loose on the former middleweight king, suggesting that Adesanya’s rage may be misplaced.

“He knows what it is to take an L, but to say that you hate a motherf---er and you glad that they lost, you glad that they didn’t achieve their dreams is wild to me, bro. Like bro, why the f—k you mad at me? What the f--k did I do to you? I kind of find it funny that you hating on me, you need to be hating on the motherf---er that took your belt,” Buckley dropped on YouTube on Thursday, courtesy of an MMA Fighting transcription.

“New Mansa” confirmed that they had an unpleasant interaction at a UFC Performance Institute in the past, where he noted that Adesanya was only talking when by himself.

“He’s trying to be funny, he’s trying to use his platform to talk s--t on me,” Buckley lamented, “but that really just shows me the potential of my name, and how big I’m becoming. Just like when I met his ass at the PI, and I ran up on him, and was like ‘hey bro, I think we’d be a good ass fight,’ he was quiet at the time.”

As Buckley churned around Adesanya’s trash talk, he grew angrier, and decided to send a message.

“You ain’t no real fighter,” Buckley posted. “You want to be a little pretty boy. I would give you a sample but I don’t like boy p--sy.”

Buckley found his six-fight win streak at 170 pounds grind to a halt courtesy of Usman. The kickboxer first competed in the Octagon at middleweight, so an opportunity against Adesanya is not something he would shy away from.

“You can get this work any given time, bro,” Buckley challenged.
