The presser begins at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT, but is only open to credentialed media. However, the event will likely stream on UFC.com and on the promotion’s YouTube channel.
UFC 229 takes place at T-Mobile Arena on Oct. 6, and according to a release, the matchup between Nurmagomedov and McGregor is “the biggest fight in mixed martial arts history.” White recently said he was “confident” the event would sell 2 million pay-per-view buys, and tickets for UFC 229 sold out in three hours.
Nurmagomedov, the reigning lightweight champion, is 26-0 as a professional and claimed the belt vacated by his Irish rival with a five-round verdict over Al Iaquinta at UFC 223. McGregor will return to the Octagon for the first time since November 2016, when he stopped Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 to briefly become a two-division champion at 145 and 155 pounds.
