Former flyweight title challenger Kyoji Horiguchi will lock horns with Neil Seery when the UFC travels to the Netherlands on May 8.
Promotion officials announced the matchup on Wednesday. UFC Fight Night takes place at Ahoy Rotterdam in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and is headlined by a heavyweight clash pitting Alistair Overeem against Andrei Arlovski.
Horiguchi was submitted with one second remaining in the final frame of his 125-pound championship clash with Demetrious Johnson at UFC 186 last April. The 25-year-old Japanese fighter rebounded in his next outing, taking a unanimous verdict over Chico Camus at UFC Fight Night “Barnett vs. Nelson” on Sept. 25. Horiguchi recently moved to the United States to train at American Top Team.
Seery, meanwhile, enters the contest having won three of his last four Octagon appearances. Most recently, “2 Tap” submitted Jon delos Reyes with a guillotine choke 4:12 into the second round of their matchup at UFC Fight Night in Dublin on Oct. 24.
