Multiple outlets confirmed the news on Monday following an initial report from MMA Fusion. According to ESPN, the promotion is searching for a replacement opponent for Edgar’s 135-pound debut, but it is unclear if “The Answer" will be willing to remain on the card. Munhoz reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 prior to his flight from Las Vegas to Abu Dhabi.
“Sorry to hear you had a positive test,” Edgar wrote to Munhoz on Twitter. “Wish you a speedy recovery. Let [me] know as soon you’re ready to scrap, I’ll be waiting.”

Munhoz has been victorious in seven of his last nine Octagon appearances but is coming off a decision loss to Aljamain Sterling at UFC 238 in June 2019.
UFC Fight Night “Kattar vs. Ige” takes place at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi and is headlined by a featherweight showdown between Calvin Kattar and Dan Ige. Edgar vs. Munhoz was slated for the card’s co-main event.
