The long-awaited battle is finally going to happen between Paul Daley and Michael “Venom” Page.
According to a report by Brett Okamoto of ESPN on Friday, Daley (40-16-2) will face off against bitter rival Page (13-0) at a yet-to-be-announced Bellator MMA event on Feb. 16 at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. Their bout will be the third in Bellator’s Welterweight World Grand Prix, and as it is part of the tournament, it will be scheduled for five rounds. The winner of this bout will take on Douglas Lima, who put Andrey Koreshkov to sleep with a rear-naked choke in the fifth round at Bellator 206 in September.
Strikeforce and Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Daley has had a tumultuous Bellator career, starting off with a few wins inside the promotion but alternating wins and losses in his last six bouts. A true knockout artist, 30 of his 40 victories have come by knockout, including all four of his last wins, and he has knocked out the likes of Duane Ludwig, Martin Kampmann, Lorenz Larkin and Brennan Ward across his over 15-year career.
Facing Daley will be Page, who is undefeated in 13 career bouts with 11 finishes. If he wins, he will be one of only two active fighters in Bellator to go undefeated in 10 bouts or more with the promotion, where he would join A.J. McKee. Owner of the fifth-fastest knockout in Bellator history, tied with Eddie Sanchez, Page knocked out Ryan Sanders at Bellator 93 in 10 seconds.
Bellator TBA will take place on February 16, 2019 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
