UFC to Refund Fans Who Couldn’t Access Mayweather-McGregor After Ordering
Demand for the boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor
McGregor was so high on Saturday night that some fans were left out
in the cold — even after ordering the fight.
While multiple providers had issues providing access on fight night, fans who ordered the bout via UFC.TV seemed to have the most difficulty viewing the pay-per-view.
As a result, the start of the main event was delayed approximately
20 minutes. While
Showtime offered refunds for those unable to access the fight
through its platform on Monday, the UFC was still largely silent on
the matter.
That changed Tuesday, when the promotion vowed to refund unhappy customers through a statement from UFC President Dana White on Twitter.
“We always try to put on the biggest and most exciting fights. We want our fans to have the best experience when watching our events. Unfortunately, we didn’t deliver the way we wanted on Saturday because of NeuLion’s technical issues on UFC.tv,” White said. “As usual, we always take care of our fans and we will fix this. We have started processing refunds immediately for anyone who could not access the fight after purchase.”
