Mixed martial arts promotion Combate Americas revealed Thursday that it has inked an exclusive, multi-fight deal with two-time world boxing champion Kenia Enriquez.

The 25-year-old holds a boxing record of 21-9 with 9 knockouts. A native of Tijuana, Mexico, Enriquez last saw action in a unanimous decision conquest of Norleidys Graterol on Oct. 6. She has not yet competed under the MMA ruleset.

“Enriquez has been blazing a trail for women in the sport of boxing, and is now set on doing the same thing in the sport of MMA under Combate Americas, so we are excited to see her cross over and become a two-sport athlete,” declared Combate Americas CEO Campbell McLaren.

According to Combate Americas, Enriquez will be trained by Ultimate Fighting Championship mainstay Donald Cerrone in Albuquerque. She is expected to debut for the promotion Fall 2019.
