Michał Materla vs. Jay Silva rematch set for KSW24
Jul 28, 2013 Comments
(PRESS RELEASE) -- Their first encounter made the history of Polish
MMA and is widely regarded by experts and fans as the best fight
held in Poland off all time. In another KSW 24 announced bout
Michał Materla will rematch Jay Silva at
the September 28th‘s show in Łódź’s Atlas Arena.
Proclaimed “The Braveheart” Michał Materla met the American in the ring a year ago at KSW 19. In the KSW middleweight title fight, the mighty Pole defeated his foe by judges’ decision after a beautiful, back-and-forth battle to claim the belt, which he still owns.
-I remember this bout, because I corned Silva. The fight was really good and Materla won because he showed a true fighting heart. Jay no longer trains with me, he’s with Michael Bisping now, but I’m looking forward to this rematch. I predict Silva will start off really fast and take the first round, but longer it goes the result is an open case. Michał trains in American Kickboxing Academy with some of the best fighters in the world, so he’ll be perfectly ready, as he always is. I don’t know who wins, but I definitely like to see it – 10th KSW Camp coach Krzysztof Soszyński says.
Just like in 2012 the fighters will battle in front of the Łódź’s crowd and just like in 2012 we expect another war of attrition from them. With these two warriors, the high-level, fast-paced exciting bout is almost a certainty. If there is anyone who has not seen the first fight, feel free to watch it here.
