(PRESS RELEASE) -- Las Vegas – The Ultimate Fighting Championship®
(UFC®) and FOX Sports 1 have joined forces to present UFC Fight For
The Troops, a special three-hour live televised event on Wednesday,
Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. ET, to raise funds for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes
Fund in support of the brave men and women serving our nation in
the United States Armed Forces. Headlined by Army Green Beret
Tim
Kennedy and featuring armed forces veterans Liz
Carmouche and Colton
Smith, the fights will be attended by thousands of soldiers
from Fort Campbell, home to the only Air Assault Division in the
world, the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).
Squaring off against Kennedy in the main event will be former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida. In the coming weeks, www.ufcfightforthetroops.com will be live and will have the most up to date details on the fight card as well as information about ways to donate or bid on exclusive auction items like VIP experiences, premium autograph merchandise and other collectibles.
To date the UFC has hosted two UFC Fight For The Troop events (2008
and 2011) that helped raise $4 million for the Intrepid Fallen
Heroes Fund and The National Intrepid Center of Excellence, an
advanced research facility in Bethseda, MD dedicated to the
diagnosis and treatment of military personnel and veterans
suffering from traumatic brain injury (TBI) and psychological
health issues.

About The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, a national leader in supporting the men and women of the United States Armed Forces and their families, has provided more than $150 million in support for the families of military personnel lost in service to our nation, and for severely wounded military personnel and veterans. The Fund most recently opened the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) to support the research, diagnosis, and treatment of military personnel and veterans suffering from traumatic brain injury (TBI).
