Rising Roman

Roman Dolidze made the most of his second chance.

Nearly two years after dropping a unanimous verdict to Marvin Vettori at UFC 286, “The Caucasian” showcased his evolution in the UFC Vegas 104 headliner, as he outdueled his Italian rival over five rounds to capture a unanimous decision triumph at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday night. Dolidze has won his last three outings in the Octagon, which allows him to move to No. 11 in Sherdog’s middleweight poll.

Meanwhile, former Bellator MMA welterweight champion Yaroslav Amosov returned to action after more than a year away, as he scored a first-round submission of Curtis Millender at Cage Fury Fighting Championships 140 on Friday. The Ukrainian standout rebounds from his first career defeat in his last outing — a title fight against Jason Jackson at Bellator 301 — and sets the stage for an anticipated move to the UFC. In the meantime, Amosov avoids losing his No. 8 ranking at 170 pounds due to inactivity.
