Beatdown: Woodley, Miletich
TJ De Santis and Jeff Sherwood returned to the Sherdog Radio Network Monday for another edition of “Beatdown.” Joining them on the broadcast was UFC welterweight contender Tyron Woodley and former UFC welterweight champion Pat Miletich.
Former Strikeforce title challenger Tyron Woodley is firmly in the mix of the UFC’s 170 pound title picture. He looks to further his chances for a title shot at UFC 171 where he takes on former WEC and UFC interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit. Woodley breaks down the upcoming match, the current UFC welterweight division, and what will happen if his teammate Robbie Lawler should emerge victorious with the UFC welterweight title. Woodley also chats about his participation of the UFC’s press tour raising awareness during Black History Month.
Pat Miletich told the Sherdog Radio Network in August 2012 that Daniel Cormier would “ragdoll” Jon Jones if they ever met. Then Cormier was a heavyweight still competing in Strikeforce’s heavyweight division. Fast forward 18 months and “DC” is just days removed from his UFC light-heavyweight debut. Miletich joins De Santis and Sherwood to discuss that bold statement and how confident in Cormier he is still capture UFC 205-pound gold.
TJ and Jeff also take listener calls, emails, and tweets. As well as react to the news which sees former Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez sign a new deal with the UFC.
