Crystal Vanessa Demopoulos doesn’t see winning the Legacy Fighting Alliance strawweight title as her golden ticket to the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Instead, she views her part in the promotion’s inaugural strawweight championship bout on Friday at LFA 85 as just the latest dream achieved.
“I love LFA. I love representing LFA. If you look at my [social media] I’ve got LFA all over the place. But I’m going to the UFC man,” Demopoulos told Sherdog with a laugh. “Give me that phone call, let’s go. I’m here and I’m ready. I’ve been talking about [reaching the UFC], but I really want this belt. Because you don’t come back down to get the LFA belt. Once you go the UFC, that’s it. You don’t come back. So I want to scoop this one up on the way up there. That’s always been the game plan. And I’m so grateful that I really get to live my dreams. I’m getting to live my dreams and my dreams are coming true.”
In her conversation with Sherdog, “Lil Monster” spoke in-depth about her title fight at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and if she expects her championship-level Brazilian jiu-jitsu to play a major role in the fight.
