Renato ‘Moicano’ Back in the Saddle Following Knee Surgery

Following an active 2022, Renato “Moicano” Carneiro did not step foot inside the Octagon in 2023.

Finally recovered from an injury that prevented him from facing American Top Team teammate Arman Tsarukyan, “Moicano” is more than ready to return against Drew Dober on Feb. 3 in the UFC Fight Night 235 co-main event.

“No doubt he is a dangerous guy, but I’m very well trained for this one,” Carneiro told Sherdog Brazilian correspondent Marcelo Alonso. “I hope to win and get an opportunity as soon as possible, maybe in UFC Rio, in May. I hope to three or four times in 2024.”

The Brazilian also analyzed the fight between Tsarukyan and Charles Oliveira and Ultimate Fighting Championship’s signing of Kayla Harrison.

“I’ve never trained with a woman that strong. If She is able to keep the same level of performance in [the 135-pound] division I have no doubt she will be the next female star of UFC.”
