Ultimate Fighting Championship matchmakers have decided to up his degree of difficulty, as they have paired him with Jim Miller at UFC on ESPN 11 this Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Roberts, 26, holds Miller in high regard and appears to grasp the opportunity in front of him.
“I just think it’s a step forward because of how long he’s been in the UFC. He’s a good dude, man. Jim Miller’s been around since before I even thought about being a UFC fighter,” Roberts told Sherdog.com. “I got nothing but respect for the dude. Going in there, looking at him across the cage [and] knowing I’m going to have to step it up, I feel like he’s going to bring out the best in me; and I feel like this is the right opportunity for me to showcase what I’ve got.”
In this exclusive interview with Sherdog, Roberts recounts his May 30 submission win against Brok Weaver and expounds on the trash talk that transpired during the fight, provided his thoughts on the Black Lives Matter movement and shared his own experience with police brutality.
