Miguel Vazquez to Fight Erick Bone in New PBC on FS1 Main Event
Premier Boxing Champions announced late Thursday that its main
event for next week’s PBC on FS1 card in San Antonio, Texas has a
new main event.
Miguel “Titere” Vazquez (35-5, 13 KOs) was slated to face Felix Diaz in a 10-round junior welterweight attraction, but after Diaz was injured in training, the promoters had to scramble to find a suitable replacement.
Enter Erick Bone (16-3, 8 KOs), a tough contender who is dropping
back down to 140 pounds after fighting both Chris Algieri and Shawn
Porter at welterweight.
“I'm very excited about the opportunity to face a former world champion like Miguel Vazquez next Saturday night,” said Bone. “I look forward to fighting in front of the great fans in San Antonio and proving that I am a dangerous fighter that will leave it all in the ring.”
Also set for the telecast is a 10-round featherweight battle between highly-touted contender Miguel Flores (19-0, 9 KOs) and veteran Ruben Tamayo (26-8-4, 18 KOs).
The card will be held at the Cowboys Dancehall on May 28 and will go live on FS1 starting at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
