Showtime Boxing Weigh-in Results: All Four Headliners Make Weight
Showtime Championship Boxing returns to the Honda Center in
Anaheim, Calif. Saturday night for an excellent championship
doubleheader. Leo Santa Cruz will defend his WBA featherweight
title against Kiko Martinez in the main event while WBC super
bantamweight king Julio Ceja will take on challenger Hugo Ruiz.
Martinez (35-6, 26 KOs) was the first of the main event combatants to weigh in and he cleared the hurdle rather easily; he checked in at 125.4 pounds. Not to be outdone, the popular Santa Cruz (31-0-1, 17 KOs) tipped the scale four ounces lighter.
Ruiz (35-3, 31 KOs) came in at 122 pounds on the nose for his eagerly-anticipated rematch with Ceja, who weighed 121.4 pounds on Friday.
The main card will air live on Showtime at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
