On Nov. 11, 2006, the Ultimate Fighting Championship ventured to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas for “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 4 Finale.
In the main event, Matt Serra
beat Chris
Lytle by split-decision to win the welterweight tournament and
earn a title shot at UFC 69. There, Serra would go on to shockingly
knock out Georges St.
Pierre.
The co-main event saw Travis Lutter submit Patrick Cote in the first round to win the middleweight tournament and earn a title shot. There, the fight was turned into a non-title bout after Lutter failed to make weight. He was submitted by Anderson Silva in the second round.
Also on the card, Din Thomas submitted Rich Clementi and Jorge Rivera stopped Edwin Dewees.
