Dusko Todorovic (9-0) vs. Dequan Townsend (21-11)ODDS: Todorovic (-325), Townsend (+265)
Todorovic has already made his contribution to the UFC, even if his career goes sideways from here. He was forced to withdraw from a July bout with John Phillips, which allowed Khamzat Chimaev to step in and take the promotion by storm. Todorovic is a solid prospect in his own right. Nothing particularly jumps off the page when it comes to the Serbian, but he can do a little bit of everything and has a smart approach. He was able to pass the IQ test that is Michel Pereira on the regional scene, and he showed a strong and punishing clinch game in his fight on Dana White’s Contender Series. That alone should serve him well against Townsend, who surprisingly gets a fourth chance at a first UFC win. If nothing else, Townsend has shown a willingness to step in for a fight whenever he is needed. Even if this was a late addition to the card, this is Townsend’s first assignment in the UFC where he is not a late replacement for someone else. Townsend is always willing to make things a scrap, but all three of his UFC opponents have been at a clear strength advantage and were able to control him without much issue. The same looks to be true in this one. The pick is Todorovic by clear decision.
