By The Numbers: Edmen Shahbazyan vs. Anthony Hernandez

Edmen Shahbazyan has begun to pick up the pieces after crashing back to earth in the Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight division.

The Xtreme Couture export will do battle with fellow Dana White’s Contender Series graduate Anthony Hernandez in the UFC Fight Night 223 co-main event on Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Shahbazyan carries a 5-3 record inside the Octagon. He last appeared at UFC 282, where he closed the book on a three-fight losing streak and put away Dalcha Lungiambula with punches in the second round of their Dec. 10 pairing. Hernandez, meanwhile, steps up to the plate on a three-fight tear. He last competed on Sept. 17, when he put Marc-Andre Barriault to sleep with an arm-triangle choke in the third round of their UFC Fight Night 210 confrontation.
