By The Numbers: Olivier Aubin-Mercier vs. Shane Burgos

A barbarian stands at Olivier Aubin-Mercier’s gate.

The 2022 Professional Fighters League lightweight champion will kick off his campaign for a repeat when he confronts organizational newcomer Shane Burgos in the PFL 3 headliner on Friday at The Theater at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas. Aubin-Mercier steps back into the spotlight on the strength of a six-fight winning streak. The Tristar Gym representative last appeared at the 2022 PFL Championships, where he punched out Steven Ray in the second round of their Nov. 25 lightweight final. Burgos, meanwhile, was lured away from the Ultimate Fighting Championship by the chance to pursue a $1 million payday in the PFL. The Team Tiger Schulmann export has not competed since he took a majority decision from Charles Jourdain at UFC on ABC 3 in July.
