Bellator 132 Medicals: Daniel Straus Faces 6-Month Layoff for Right Knee Fracture

Patricio Freire finished Daniel Straus during the fourth round of their featherweight title bout at Bellator 132 on Jan. 16, and the challenger came out of the bout facing a potential six-month medical suspension.

The California State Athletic Commission on Wednesday released a full list of medical suspensions from the event to Sherdog.com. The card took place at Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, Calif.

Straus could face the card’s longest layoff for a potentially fractured knee. “Pitbull”received a lesser suspension, getting a potential 60-day sit due to a laceration on his right eye.

Additionally, Virgil Zwicker could be facing six months on the sideline pending medical clearance of an injury to his left thumb suffered in his split decision triumph over Houston Alexander in a featured light heavyweight bout. Zwicker must also have medical clearance for a laceration to his left eyebrow.
