Combate Americas: Empire Rising Weigh-in Results: John Castaneda Misses Weight
Combate Americas returns with its ninth event Friday night, with
“Empire
Rising” coming to fight fans from Turning Stone Casino in
Verona, N.Y. Headlining the festivities will be the crowing of the
promotion’s inaugural bantamweight champion, though only one man
might be able to win the belt.
Gustavo Lopez came in on point at Thursday’s weigh-ins; he tipped the scale at 135 pounds after stripping down to just his flesh. But opponent John Castaneda has all sort of trouble making weight as he came in at a whopping 137.5.
