Jason High will pay dearly for shoving referee Kevin Mulhall following his loss to Rafael dos Anjos at UFC Fight Night Albuquerque.
UFC President Dana White told UFC.com on Tuesday that High has been released by the Las Vegas-based promotion for his actions this past Saturday at Tingley Coliseum. High was hurt by a left cross from his opponent, and a series of follow-up punches and hammerfists on the ground resulted in Mulhall stopping the bout 3:36 into round three.

“"What I did find out is that I guess that Jason High kid got up and pushed a referee. He's cut," White said. "I'm going to cut him. I look at that the way (Paul) Daley put his hands on his opponent after a fight was over. You don't ever, ever f-----g touch a referee, ever. You're done here. He's been apologizing on Twitter, but he's done."
After dropping a unanimous verdict to Charlie Brenneman in his Octagon debut in 2010, High has split four bouts since rejoining the UFC in 2013. High made his 155-pound debut on Saturday after earning consecutive welterweight triumphs over James Head and Anthony Lapsley in his previous two outings.
