Report: Kevin Ferguson Jr.’s Pro Debut Postponed Once Again
According to a report on FloCombat, the Bellator
MMA debut for Kevin
Ferguson Jr., the son of the late “Kimbo
Slice,” has been postponed.
Ferguson Jr.’s scheduled opponent, Rick Bing, apparently is so egregiously overweight that the fight has been nixed. Ferguson Jr., who goes by the nickname “Baby Slice,” was scheduled to fight at welterweight, but Bing, who was also set to make his professional debut, was reportedly a staggering 25 pounds over the 170-pound weight limit Thursday afternoon.
Ferguson Jr. was originally slated to make his professional debut back in August at Bellator 160, but the Floridian was forced off the card due to an injury. Now with Bing being nowhere near the contracted weight and without a late replacement on hand, “Baby Slice” will have to be even more patient to carry on his famous father’s legacy.
Bellator 162 will be televised live on Spike beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. The preliminary card will be streamed live online. The main event features former middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko taking on longtime Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Kendall Grove.
