The 42-year-old lightweight announced his retirement from MMA on Monday in a post on social media. “From Hell” competed on Season 15 of “The Ultimate Fighter” and went 7-5 over the course of a UFC stint that began in 2012. Pichel exits the sport with a 14-5 career mark.

“There is so much to say. The short version: At 42 years old, I’m officially retiring from competing in MMA,” Pichel wrote in an announcement that spanned multiple posts on X.

“The long version: I’m sad, I’m excited, I’m happy, I’m afraid. I’m grateful to everyone who was with me or part of my MMA career and there are too many to list….As I walk away I’ll leave you with this: Do what feels right, don’t apologize for being you, be yourself, learn what you can from who you can, no regret’s and most importantly, HAVE FUN.”

Pichel was victorious in seven of his first nine Octagon appearances, earning wins over the likes of Anthony Njokuani, Roosevelt Roberts and Jim Miller, among others. He lends his career on a three-bout skid, including a decision defeat against Rafa Garcia in his last outing at UFC Mexico on March 29.
